So I am in need of a new roof, is it better to use a local small roofing company or a bigger company such as Home Depot roofing? I am looking at what expierences others have had with either small shops or big companies. Also any suggestions for the Rogers area.

    thanks

Hey cal, I used a local contractor and he was so professional about his work and price more so cause I think he has a name and a reputation to standby which is why I would use him or another small contractor that can help you out if problems do ever come up. And he did give us all the options like steel and traditional shingles of all brands. Plus he was a ice head that works hard in the summer to fish all winter

The Roof Doctor is right there in Rogers. I’ve heard through a couple insurance clients that they did a good job. They’re right there sharing an office with Auto Body Plus at the bend of 81 and Main Street.

And I would go with a local contractor in a heartbeat over a big box. More personal service. Less bureaucracy in the event of a problem.

I recommend using a local contractor. I had my home re sided with hardyplank and they did a awesome job and they do roofing too and they are out of Zimmerman. The company is Craftsman’s Choice and everyone there was great.

you should ask, but, I’m pretty sure Home Depot has no roofers on their payrole. They sub out to lowest bidder.

There’s always Stickboy. Might have to take him fishing though.

That’s too bad. I had the same shingles but insurance company covered them under storm damage. My agent was very cool about it.

That’s true about certinteed although you could always jump on with the class action law suit but probably not worth your time . We just settled after what seemed like forever and a hundred letters

Curling???? Curling is normally from a lack of air flow in the attic space – not a product failure! Before you get your roof replaced, find out exactly why they are curling. It would be the ultimate PITA to reroof, and have another product failure based on another issue.

this is a product failure not venting in the attic, I have been told by a few contractors lately. Those shingles are junk, might think about metal roofing.

My Certainteed shingles curled like potato chips on the south facing slopes, north facing slopes they looked normal. I spent a day on the class action alpplication process and got a $1350 check in the mail reasonably quick. It was a pain in the a$$ but worth the effort.
