With this weird spring the area is having, walleye spawn has been kicked off and some walleyes are even spawning already. Throughout the weekend we targeted walleyes and saugers below lock and dam 7. For the most part, fishing was slow. We had a pretty good perch bite going pulling slip rigs along wingdams on saturday morning, however it was nothing consistent. Saturday night we headed out to walleye fish at 10pm and did fairly well. We pitched moxies and light colored paddletails to wingdams and current seams and were greeted to many fish. We still didn’t get the size we had hoped to get out of the fish this time of year. We ended the “night” around 3am the next morning, keeping a few nice saugers.
