Tried trolling the cans for a couple hours today. No takers. The few boats that were in the area when I got there cleared out so they must not have been getting anything either.

I havent been down yet this year but heres whats worked in years past. I dont troll the can line until around opener. I run lindy rigs with floating jigs in the small channel that runs up along the wi shoreline right behind the boats. That can be lights out at times early in the year. Its about 10 ft from shore. If that doesnt work for me i fish the deep hole off the unmarked wing dam. If nothing jig and minnow right in the entrance to the marina. But my go to is to drag a 3 way with a red hook and minnow right behind all the boats at the confluence. I keep as close as i can without hitting them! Ive had 3 people in the boat fishing 2 rods a peice and all rods hooked up within 30 seconds of eachother.

    Good luck

Not Prescott. Just wondering if anyone know if Hudson Lakefront launch is open yet? Going to see if Crappies are awake yet.

still really early for that prescott bite. that doesn’t really pick up until late april, with the trolling bite starting mid-may.

Prescott seems to pick up better after the spawn happens as all the fish slide back down from the Croix and then they are on the feed again! Mid to late Aprilish as mentioned.
