I am just starting my quest for a tablet PC, and am looking for suggestions. I’m not going to be spending the extra money for a name either. i.e. IPAD. Looking for something that has good on board storage, good camera, and wi-fi. Thanks in advance.

I’m on an iPad right now — I love it. I understand that the price of the iPad 2 went or is going down by $100 now that the new model is out. Get a 3G model, by the way, and you won’t regret it.
March 21, 2012 at 11:48 am #1050979I don’t have a tablet computer, but my preferences for computer brands in general lean towards Acer and HP. I’d stay away from Dell and Sony.
March 21, 2012 at 12:06 pm #1050986I have a Motorola and love it! Priced right around $499 at Best Buy. I use it everywhere! I hook it up with a Sprint wireless puck for $49/mo and I have wireless on both my pad and laptop..
March 21, 2012 at 12:26 pm #1050990I have an I Pad one and it has worked flawlessly. Cost was about $500.00.
March 21, 2012 at 12:33 pm #1050993I have heard very good things about the samsung glaxey. This is cheaper unit that they ipad, is wi-fi enabled and is sweet.
There are some great deals out there too on the old Ipad2. i have not used these very much but based on teh reviews these are also sweet. I have other apple products and are very intuitive in the use. (my 4 year old knows how to navigate it with ease but she is a geninus )
March 21, 2012 at 12:52 pm #1050999I just invested in the Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7 This is not generally available except through Verizon right now. Not sure when a stand-alone wifi version will be available. But… it is hands down the best tablet available. The Super Amoled display is said to be just as good, if not better, than the new Ipad3 screen. And the battery life is unreal. I flew to Seattle last week for work… and 3 hours of use… including a 2 hour HD movie (Immortals) and much game play… by the time we landed… battery was at 83%. Blew my mind.
March 21, 2012 at 12:53 pm #1051000forgot to add… although it is only available in the US through Verizon… you can find wifi-only versions from hong kong. My brother got one from ebay… which is why I went with one too.

DO it.

With solid reasoning like that, who can argue?Someone has apple stock.
Hope the iPads are built better than the MacBook Pro I have. Been battling black screens and a company that refuses to acknowledge faulty logic boards built in 2010.
March 21, 2012 at 5:07 pm #1051137We have settled on the Samsung Galaxy 10.1 tablets with 3G/4G. So far, they have worked flawlessly in several environments. I use mine mostly for viewing trail cam pics and browsing IDO.

Why is that?
March 21, 2012 at 6:57 pm #1051193We are starting to roll out the Asus Transformer Prime at work. it is an absolute workhorse, plus you can get a dock with it too.
Tegra 3 processor
Gorilla Glass screen
18 hours of battery life with the dock
ability to use an external mouse/keyboard
SD card reader
HDMI outMarch 21, 2012 at 7:21 pm #1051201You guys are killing me. I am still contemplating when to pull the trigger on a new phone.

i waited on the Galaxy Nexus, but my DInc works just fine, so i’m going to wait for the first quad-core with the 2nd Gen LTE chip in it.
I’ve already waited this long, whats another couple months. hopefully the Galaxy SIII comes to verizon, as it is supposed to have all of that, and be out late spring/early summer.
hndPosts: 1579March 21, 2012 at 8:52 pm #1051217transformer all day long. my ipad acts as a paperweight at work. meh.
March 21, 2012 at 11:28 pm #1051252Don’t the Ipads still not support flash? Means you cannot watch You Tube on it and many others. Also what about USB? I hope I am wrong about this, as I am contemplating one.
March 22, 2012 at 12:20 am #1051277Reports i have heard is that the ipad3 gets too hot to hold. As far as the asus… I had the asus netbook for less than 2 years and the display went out. It also wont hold a charge. So i personally have written them off.

There is an app for you tube, the flash isn’t as big of a deal as I thought it would be, but it’s also what the wife wanted, so that’s what she got.
My asus netbook is about 1.5 years old, still holds charge for a solid 4 hours (versus an honest to god 9+ when new) and has actually been flawless overall for $300 I don’t think I could’ve done better, and mine has MEGA hours on it, I bought a good case and take decent care of it. if it went out tomorrow I’d have no issue buying another.
