    Wife and I are headed to SE MN this wknd. for a 40th bday but are thinking of spending Friday night in Stillwater. Any suggestions on a bar/grill type restaurant and a motel? something close to the river? It’s gotta be nice or the wifey won’t be impressed.

    lumbermens..just north of the stillwater bridge..classy and right in the downtown of it all

    Nuts, the FW and I will be in Red Wing this weekend Trev.

    You’ll be about 12 miles from my front door and 6 miles from the Bungalow.

    Phils Tara Hideaway has some really good food. It’s somewhere I’ll be taking my woman next weekend for her Birthday. Prices are a little higher than average but the food is well worth it. >>> Phil’s Tara Hideaway this place should impress her <<<

    Then for breakfast the next day take her to “Not Justa Cafe” down in Bayport, really good food averagely priced with exceptional proportions, one of my frequent breakfast spots

    I’d second Bill’s suggestion for the Water Street Inn if you want to be right downtown Stillwater. I would also highly recommend Phil’s Tara Hideaway. They have a heck of a prime rib. It’s about a mile south of downtown.

    Sweet, with that kinda luck might have to take a detour to Treasure Island… Will most likely make the drive down thru Red Wing on our way to Owatonna. I’ll be sure to keep an eye out for ya…

    Thanks for the suggestions guys. Any idea if there is a place with live music on weekends? Told the wife i was takin her dancin’ this weekend….

    I know there is live music in downtown Stillwater during the summer (PD Pappys), but not sure if there is this time of year.
