My dad got a Kawasaki Mule two years ago. It’s a great little workhorse around the farm, but it’s slow and the suspension stinks(stiff). I would not buy one again knowing this now.

What do you want to use it for?

Hauling my fishing tackle and wife from boat to cabin and running around the little used roads around Lake V. I currently have a Yamaha Kodiak 400, which I may want to keep.

Mules are for work. No fun factor. ANY of the other sides(UTV’s) are made to be sporty as well.

. +1. And don’t forget unstoppable. 18 inches of snow and it will eat it for breakfast. Now if you want something faster and more for fun definitely look at the CanAm Commander.

My brother-in-law went away from his Polaris Ranger and went with the Artic Cat Prowler. He claims machine wise, they are equal. He switched due to dealer support on the Ranger was terrible locally.

If you plan to cruise around much, I’d stay away from the Mule. Get a Teryx, Ranger or Prowler. Cross between sport and work. If price is a concern, it seems the Teryx are most economical out there for used.

Just looked at a Polaris Ranger 400 (Mid Size) Reading the literature now. I am initially impressed with this machine.
    Who makes the Teryx?

I have the Polaris Ranger HD. Great for work and fun. Use it for running around the county roads in the summer and yard work. Winter I use it for plowing the driveway and roads on the lake so I can take my wheelhouse out with it and move around. Also move around the lake pulling my Voyager portable for scouting spots. Put the dock and boat in the water in the spring with it. It’s an Alumacraft Tournament Pro 185 and handles it just fine.

Another plug for the Ranger here. Have a little over 100 hours on one here now, love it! Would recommend the XP (700)…..or now they have the 800 I believe. You will appreciate the power for sure if you have to lug through deep snow pulling fish house, or just fighting deep snow. I have chains on all four tires in wintertime, it will keep going and going in snow, as long as you’re not hung up, but if you’re pulling, the horsepower of the bigger one is nice!

Also, the bench seat is a huge advantage over the buckets of the prowler and others. Great for hauling kids, or 3 people!
