So as much crap as I have served up to the ford guys, i have now went and traded my chevy for a 94 f150 xlt with a little 6 cylinder engine. Now being a chevy guy all my life and running a 350 in EVERYTHING, Im feeling a little inadequit. What kind of ideas are there for uping the cahonees while keeping the gas mileage? Unfortunatly its a 2wd so I cant lift it. Thinking bigger injectors, maybe a chip and someway of raming more air down its throat. Any ideas Ford guys?

Maybe a set of truck nuts dangling from the hitch?

ps-did they still offer the straight 6 in 94? That’s a legendary engine.

Upping the horsepower without hurting the gas mileage?

It would be like eating a gallon of ice creme a night while on a diet.

Get used to it…I ended up with a a similar truck with a 6 cyl… What you do to increase HP REDUCES GAS MILEAGE… IF it is the 200hp 6 it hs some decent torque and will pull a boat pretty well. But I believe you will miss your 350 CID Chev when the smoke clears. My F 150 was a 97 and that 6 cyl never got more than 18 mpg…but it was a 4X4.

It has the straight 6 engine. I had to make the choice of either keeping the chevy and not be able to use it when gas hits $5/gallon, or get something that I could afford gas to go camping/fishing in south dakota or yellow stone. I’m still a chevy guy @ heart though and will trade it for a chevy with similar mpg asap. Wish gas would go back to under a buck again.

Let us know how you do on mileage. I didn’t think that engine is great on mileage but damn dependable.

I have no idea why any manufacture puts a 6 cylinder in a truck
The last 6 cylinder that was worth buying was the old straight 6. Since then they are all under powered unless you are just looking for a grocery getter with a big box in my opinion.

That’s pretty, but the wheels are too small.

    Do some research guys.

My Buddy’s ECO-Boost destroys my 350 Chev in every single category imaginable. Oh and it’s a 6 cylinder.

A little Nitrous will do wonders, not sure about gas mileage but a 150hp NOS kit will wake up that 6 clyinder….least till the internals part company..:)

Actually a turbo might help, if the motor can stand the boost.
They did wonders for my motorcycles.
