Ice chunks floating yet?

Hey guys, hoping to get out this weekend on either pool 5 or 5A, can anyone tell me if I should be watching for ice chunks yet?

And is the landing and channel open from Fountain City Wisconsin up to the dam?

    Thanks!

Both the main launch at Fountain City and the small ramp under the RR trax behind the FC Ford dealer are open.

Bass Camp is also open – both the normal main ramp and the high water ramp by the fuel dock were being used today.

I have heard but not seen personally that Trempealeau is open.

I was on Pool 5 yesterday and there were some ice chunks at various times of the day but far from consistent. One of the roller gates was up higher than the others which might have accounted for some of the chunks coming down.

Please do watch out for the ice chunks as several of them were clear and difficult to see. Don’t let this ruin your day.

I was out yesterday on 5 too…same thing, but I only saw small chunks. They did knock my ‘ducer enough so I had to stick my hand in that cold water. BTW…the bite was slow to non-existent for me and most others I talked to. It was a beautiful day to be on the water.
