Suggestions rebuilding bow deck framing on boat

    I am thinking of rebuilding the bow deck framing of the 18ft lund boat I have. The deck has 2X10 wolmanized wood for the framing now. I want to redo it with aluminum to make it lighter. Will aluminum box channel be good to use? Any suggestions or help would be greatly appreciated.

    Aluminum will work very well. I did a front deck on a old flat bottom boat. I use 2inch angle from F&F. Just remember bracing in the right area and you should be fine. It works well bolting it or using rivets if you can get a big enough rivet gun. Good luck!!!
