    #1 The Gophers have to beat the Badgers

    Then we WE; (The Minnesota Golden Gophers) win The McNaugton Cup

    Then it’s on to the Final Five

    Geez, and I was kind of excited about the Badgers and Gophers this weekend, kind of early for F5 time… WI State hockey starts today though!!!

    I would be very surprised to see the Badgers beat the Gophers.
    But if it did happen, it sure wouldn’t bother me.

    We have a group of 10 going to all of the games. All of us are Gopher fans except for one odd guy that will be cheering for the Bulldogs. No matter who is in it, they will be great games to watch. I still have a pair of tickets for all 5 games if someone is interested.

    There will be no Sioux team at the final 5 or any other NCAA sanctioned event.

    There might be a North Dakota team, but no Sioux EVER again.

    Me too, but a guys gotta be more than a realist every now and again… My friday/saturday nights are consumed by texting an old college friend transplanted from Rochester to Columbus, OH and my cousin who’s been living in the TC for most of his life while watching da gophs…

    We only get this chance twice a year to poke and prod…

    I know a lot of you guys are busy worrying about the gophers this weekend, but it is NEVER too early to talk about the final five… especially since it is the last one! Dutchboy the Sioux will always be the Sioux to the real fans. The NCAA can do what they want with politics as usual. I will be wearing my Sioux Jersey with pride . Just a heads up to all you haters watch out come Tourney time… UND will be fine and dandy, no pressure this year. Kind of like the Bulldogs story of 11′

    You will be wearing your Sioux jersey next year with pride but I don’t think it will be at the final 5.

    This is the last year of the WCHA and I think the final 5 ends with it.

    Really to bad the universities grabbed the money yet again. They are breaking up a real entertaining hockey league.

    Wild and Gophs lose a combined 10-2. Yeah, 2. Powe scored, but the refs decided that Red Wings needed more confidence with a shut out.

    I was shocked as well.
