I got an email advertising for this and thought maybe I’d get a subscription for the kids. However, I’m wondering…is it full of tree hugger type info or is it really educational? I can only judge by some of the shows I’ve watched on their channel. They have left me less than impressed at times.

My 6 year old daughter gets this magazine and likes it, she reads it cover to cover by herself, but she reads a few levels above her age. My 12 year old daughter shows no interest in it. I would say it is a good magazine especially for children in 5-10 year old range.

My kids get it too and really like it.

I think there’s a fair amount of environmental writing in many kids media these days, from rainforest topics to diminishing numbers of ocean species particularly. That said, I think of these conservation-related messages as being a good thing. It’ll always be up to us to help keep them from going overboard in either direction, but increasing their awareness while educating them is a good thing I think.
