I’m having issues with my trolling motor. I thought the batteries were bad so I replaced them and the footboard is only 6 months old. I went out fishing yesterday and the motor worked two minutes and then stopped. Wouldn’t do anything. It did this to me last Sunday after about 4 hours of use so I plugged the boat in and figured it would be fine but like I say it worked two minutes yesterday. Now the battery indicator lights that are built in to the motor light up but are very dim. Do I have a wiring issue or is there a connection issue? Anyone else ever encounter this problem. Any help is much appreciated!

Have the batteries tested. If you get an indicator telling you bad connection…most often it is a dead battery.

Have you ever checked the water level in the batteries?

Are there circuit breakers on your battery posts ? They will be rectangular grey boxes…if so there is a black button that pops when tripped usually from “dirty posts”, push in to reset and clean the posts… Hope this helps
