It was cool to see Jeff Burton running at the front of the pack for the night. 5th place finish is a good start to his season
February 28, 2012 at 1:00 pm #1043881A 2nd and 12th for my guys was a good start.
What do you guys think of the pack racing?
February 28, 2012 at 1:05 pm #1043886I finally had to hit the sack with 23 laps to go…. Keselowski was up in the top 10 all night and ends up 32nd ? WTF !!!???
February 28, 2012 at 1:18 pm #1043891Ha, I’m such a die hard, I fell asleep just as they fire the cars backup. Missed the best part of the race.
February 28, 2012 at 1:47 pm #1043901It was a good race but I preferred the tandem racing style over pack racing.
My fantasy drivers got me a few points… too bad Gordon blew up!

It is the style of racing the drivers use to complain about just 2 years ago but it makes it interesting for the fans. The only difference is with the restricted air flow they can’t just hook up bumper to bumper and push lap after lap. Now they have to keep a foot in between the cars
Not sure what the answer is to restrictor plate racing but, they will always need each other, in a pack or tandem, along with a friend to stay up to speed on these types of tracks.
It does make for edge of the seat racing!

That’s why you gotta get DVR. Zip through the Waltrips blathering during the pre race, watch the first 10 laps, and then just hit the super duper FF button until you see a caution or a pit stop. Then hit play for the last 15 laps.
I can usually watch a race in 30 minutes.
February 28, 2012 at 2:33 pm #1043821I know, I have DVR and thought about it but I was too lazy to get out of bed. I’m a huge fan!
February 28, 2012 at 4:47 pm #1044018I agree with big. Alot of people that have been racing longer were in just as many wrecks if not more. Look at Michal Waltrip. Theres a guy that I dont know how he keeps sponsers. Lol, I enjoyed when waltrip was talking about winning and the commentator said “Thank God for rain.”
February 28, 2012 at 4:56 pm #1044031I personaly would rather them go back to the tandem races and get rid of the restrictor plate. The way it is now, even if you have the best car on the track, you still have to work with somebody or you fall way back. Im not the biggest junior fan, but I think he was robbed of that win. Good team work on part of the 2 infront of him, but still a dirty move in my eyes. (did i mention i was glad to see jimmy hit the wall?}
February 28, 2012 at 5:36 pm #1044066Congrats to the 17, but I thought it was a little boring racing. The outside lane could do nothing all night and the end left something to be desired for me. Reminded me of a few years back when nobody could pass at all, hope they make some changes just my 2 cents.
February 28, 2012 at 5:43 pm #1044068So how many NASCAR drivers does it take to set a jet dryer on fire? Just Jaun.

He got in the outside line and they kept falling back when they actually ran a couple of laps in a row…which over the last 40 was not very often.
This is the one race I watch each year and it was the most boring (for me) ever. I think the cars are a pick’em now days for the most part and the circling pack without lead changes does not interest me. The only real “action” is when someone screws up and bumps somebody. Again (to me) that is not racing.

Yeah, those new rules really lamed that race down
February 28, 2012 at 11:25 pm #1044157Ya, I really don’t know how they are going to pull in new fans to the sport. I think Danica is an attemp to pull in a new fan base but the novelty will wear off. One thing I did find a little overboard was a few of them were sent to the back of the pack after the fire because they took one of the tearoffs from the window. Really? I wouldn’t consider that breaking any rules. It doesn’t improve performance of the car or anything like that.
February 29, 2012 at 12:08 am #1044282It was Edwards and Kyle Busch, so I was OK with it I thought maybe Keselowski was too busy tweeting and wasn’t apying attention and got in a accident
Who the he11 tweets ? Anybody here ?
starvin pilgrimPosts: 335February 29, 2012 at 12:14 am #1044285What really made me chuckle was during the delay was all the guys pulling out there phones. Maybe the wrecks happened because someone was texting. Could Jaun have been?
February 29, 2012 at 10:06 am #1044379lmao!! I bet that was it pilgrim! Maybe he saw the post on here about the skittles going clockwise and decided he wanted to try the other direction.
