Does Dean have the new BFT gold plated (not painted) blades? I think those may be what he is asking for… BFT has been out of them for some time.

BFT is the only company making a true gold plate blade that I’ve seen in some time. And that’s likely why they’re out…

heddon also makes the sonar in a gold plate, it does have a liitle black spot on the nose and tail but should work great on LOW. I bought some at Joe’s last year but they didn’t carry them this year

That Heddon pattern is also paint. I believe the pattern is called “golden shiner.”

The BFT blades are actually plated with real gold and the finish is beyond brilliant. The guys that fish blades religiously for walleye through the ice are very particular about that bait and will go on and on about how much better the plated versions work over the painted/glittered versions.

Real gold just can’t be duplicated with paint or glitter. What you end up with is a bait that is too yellow or almost an orange. Gold is gold. That’s why people have been digging around in the dirt for it since the beginning of time. And we all know how particular walleye can be about a color. Dark brown is not the same as black. And nothing I’ve fished duplicates gold like… gold.

Email m/e at [email protected], I might be able to help.
