I am not into nascar but I see it starts in a week.
I am a flatliner and they just had the first drag race of the year and John Force the Funny car and Anderson won Prostock
February 15, 2012 at 12:36 am #1038984I think DODGE is gonna have a good year again Between Busch and Keselowski, I like our chances
been fishingPosts: 43February 15, 2012 at 1:14 am #1039006That #51 car could be one to watch. Don’t care for either Busch but they drive the heck out of their stuff.
February 15, 2012 at 1:16 am #1039008I think the 24 and 17 will surprise some folks this year if that is possible?? My darkhorse is Kayne in the 5…

WTF ? OK, he is now worthless…AGAIN !!! He got goofy when his ears got all pointy…. Lets go AJ
February 15, 2012 at 10:29 am #1039077lol, you could always cheer for M. Waltrip! Hes always so far at the back of the pack though I dont remember what he even drives.
February 15, 2012 at 10:51 am #1039082M. Waltrip owner of MWR. Camry’s.
Anyone can win the daytona 500.
I like the 14, 88, and the 5 to shock everyone!the pyromaniacPosts: 44February 15, 2012 at 12:35 pm #1039111I was born near Bristol (Abingdon, 13 miles to the north), grew up near Martinsville (Ferrum, 30 minutes north), and now live an hour from Bristol. I can’t stand NASCAR! The traffic it generates really sucks sometimes!
mojogunterPosts: 3301starvin pilgrimPosts: 335February 15, 2012 at 1:15 pm #1039136Yawn, The sport used to be enjoyable, then they started catering to the band wagon JR. fans. The modern day whiney baby drivers can’t hold a candle to the real pioneers of the sport. Ego,s to easily bruised.
February 15, 2012 at 1:37 pm #1039149I pretty much just watch for the wrecks. I unfortunatly was to young to remember anyone other than watching Dale senior about a month before he died. Would love to see the way it was when yarlburo and the woods brothers were batteling it out. Nascar claims they are trying to get back to that but I don’t see it happening.

Other than that, when I am in the house I’ll take a peek to see what’s going on in the lead and where Matt is at, but then after that I would rather watch someone shape a 3 iron around the corner!!!

starvin pilgrimPosts: 335February 15, 2012 at 6:58 pm #1039313Every now and then you can catch an old race on ESPN Classic. Today, If you take the stickers off the cars, you can’t tell the difference between them. I was never a big fan Dale Sr., But he was adamn good driver. I allways thought, that the day he died, NASCAR started dieing.
starvin pilgrimPosts: 335February 16, 2012 at 12:05 am #1039433So NASCAR says.Every one knows the fan base is fading. Check half way into the season and look into the stands.Don’t get me wrong, I used to love NASCAR, but as I stated earlier, they catered to Dale Jr.All the band wagon fans jumped on.Hes been voted fan favorite for 9 years. By doing what? He hasn’t won a race in 129 tries. Hence, those band wagon fans are loosing interest and falling by the wayside. The tracks are almost all cookie cutter tracks, The cars are all the same [can’t tell a chevy from a ford, from a dodge].I started watching racing when I lived in Virginia because that was basically the only sport people Knew what to talk about. Watching it deteriate to what it is now is sad.I’ll probably watch the 500, but that will probably be it.
February 16, 2012 at 12:30 am #1039448Oh, yeah. They still love it up More and more, they are adding West coast and Northern races too. I know there was talk about even racing in Canada. They go to Mexico already…so…
FWIW, I know there was a rumor about a NASCAR track in the Big Lake area, about 5 or 6 years ago… but it fell through with no guaranteed race there…
February 16, 2012 at 1:04 am #1039475Left turn, its another left turn, and its another frigging left turn… Its the only sport you can watch completely hammered…. Jeff Dunham has a great bit on it with the aforementioned. It is hilarious.
What number is Danica driving? That is one of the ways I believe they are trying to get some of the fans back.
Take this in the manner it is taken. A little good natured ribbing.
February 16, 2012 at 1:07 am #1039480“NASCAR is only for poor and stupid people. I don’t have what it takes.”
“It’s like an oval. So we’re going to be drivin’ straight and turning to left sometimes.”
reddogPosts: 803February 16, 2012 at 4:27 am #1039528Not much of a Nascar fan, but I am a huge Kyle Larson fan. Remember the name, you heard it here first.
February 16, 2012 at 10:15 am #1039542I honestly dont know who its for anymore. Pilgrim is right about all the cars looking exactly the same. Nascar says they are going to change that. I personaly would prefer to go watch a local dirt track race anymore. I think nascar would be alot better if they would make an outlaw series and let everyne race what they bring.
February 16, 2012 at 12:06 pm #1039576Same can be said about alot of sports… run back and forth on a 100 yard piece of sod… try to run in circles on bases… run up and down a hardwood floor… hit a little ball down the grass and into the hole… I am sure you catch my drift. Watch a race like Sonoma or Watkins Glen, if you get dizzy watching the ovals
February 16, 2012 at 6:48 pm #1039787exactly big. Its all just a matter of what is fun for the individual. I really dont understand how you would have fun with golf, but i aint knocking it. I would have more fun tearing up the carts though! lmao
starvin pilgrimPosts: 335February 16, 2012 at 8:56 pm #1039861Ditto Heavy, SO I’ll choose the guys that run around the bases. Run fast turn left.
