The womans brother and his wife are up from Pensacola Beach FL. and she is getting checked out at the Mayo in Rochester. I was wondering if there is anything to do or see in the Rochester, Winona or LaCrosse area ? Anything worth checking out ? Unfortunately fishing is out of the option. We’ll be down there all day tomorrow so I was hoping there was something worth checking out

    Thanks in advance

The boat show in La Crosse starts on Thursday. I am not sure of the hours though.

If you want some great food, and reasonably priced, check out John Hardy’s BBQ. The main location is off Hwy52/Hwy 14, the other is on South Broadway. The shredded pork plate and JoJo’s are hard to beat. They won’t disappoint.

This weekend is winterfest in Rochester and there is an ice bar down town….tons of ice sculptures and most bars have an actual ‘ice bar’ that are pretty cool! There is also bands down there every evening as well. Other then that I am not to much help unless it involves fishing or…..well pubs

If you like good movies, you might enjoy the 45 minute drive to Wabasha, MN. (The site of ‘Grumpy Old Men’ ) the town is a great tourist area, and as I saw in the replies, you might visit the Eagle Center, too. A chance to eat at ‘Slippery’s’ will be worth the trip.
