I know that black and blue jigs are good for largemouths’ early in the spring on the river.. what colors do you guys like for those old brown fish during the spring? I am talking about jigs , like a flipping jig or a swim jig.

In my meager experience I get both using the same lure in the same place. How ever I am sure that your answer is around the corner.

The are of the sippi I fish in the spring the smallies are so aggresive that color doesn’t seem to matter. But if I had to pick it would be something that flashes silver.

Match the hatch. I do like white if sight fishing, helps to put the bait on the spot.

Your fishin for the answer that you already have in your box, they will tell you what they want but, like previous post when there bitin it may not matter, i’d be more concerned about the weight and size of the body, but then again color will matter, hope it’s as clear as mud,

Craw colors for the river smallies. I usually throw red craw traps, craw crank baits, and craw colored tubes for the prespawners. I’ll throw a chartreuse shad or some other variation of shad when I’m throwing jerkbaits, however. Otherwise, Its pretty much craw colors for the smallies all year until Late summer
