I recently attempted to upgrade by purchasing a 597c HD to take the GPS function and screen space off my 997. Also to overcome the slow refresh rate with Lakemaster chip on the 997.
Disappointed in the internal GPS on the 597 @ <2 mph caused me the rethink the whole deal.
Well……. I bought a 1198c si and am excited for the open water ! Decided to keep the 997 as a Bow and possible transom mount option with another possibilty of mounting the SI transducer on my small boat when I use it. Not sure exactly how I can rig everything to do what I want but am thinking that since I have a Terrova I-pilot the bow is an easy hook-up but the transom might be a bit more challenging. I have a glassed in transducer as well as the side image transducer with the y cable. Thinking I may be able to dedicate the SI to one unit or the other and the glassed in transducer to the other. Anybody have any thoughts on this ?
    Possible ? ( I think so ) practical ??
I did pick-up a Interlink but see I can only share gps data not sonar.
Anybody have any thoughts on this ?

Split the transom transducer between the HDSI and the glassed in. HDSI for 455 and 800 khz SI and DI. Glaassed in for 83 and 200 Khz 2D sonar.

Mount a HDSI on your Terrova, and forget about the US2. It makes no sense to have your Trolling motor SI/Di come from the back of the boat.

You can take your Terrova apart and thread the New HDSi ducer in the notch in the shaft, so you dont twist it off while turning.

See pictures 123-131 in my Humminbird album.

Is that what you were asking?

if you need more info for mounting the rear trasnducer, then you need to tell me/us more about your boat
