Oh wow to hard to pick a favorite. The whole Dark Side of the Moon is classic. Showing my age I guess. Just had conversation with my 20 y/o son about this the other day. I like some of his music and he likes some of the old classic rock. I asked him if his music would still be on the radio 35 years from now like mine is today.
I really like the era of Waters paying tribute to Syd. As their popularity grew so fast, he kept grounded to where they came from – and who was responsible for it. Though, very ironic how they created such elaborate stage shows because they hated being in front of crowds One of my first concerts – Animals Milwaukee County Stadium!!!
Wish you were here, Shine On You Crazy Diamond, & Speak to Me/Breathe
I think “Sheep” is my favorite, but “Several species of small fury animals gathered together in a cave and grooving with a pict” comes in a close second.
Definitely my favorite band of all time! Love all the eras. Have almost every disk on my ipod. I almost always have music on when I am fishing. Biggest walleye my group ever boated was lighted bobber fishing 3 or 4 years ago at 3am on a dead calm opening night (midnight launch) on a Wright County lake. We were partying hard with the tunes cranked. So much for needing to quiet while hunting the eyes.
Whoa!!!! I have been waiting my whole life to make this post! Saw them in 94′ at the Dome when I was a Junior in HS, needless to say ‘Syd’ wasn’t just the song writer that night. Huge fan since the 6th grade when I saw the video for Learning to Fly on MTV.
too many good ones to pick just one. how about a top 5 in no particular order… empty spaces/young lust, in the flesh, comfortably numb, another brick in the wall, run like hell, money, wish you were here, mother … guess thats more than 5
When I got big sceen tv and high end surround sound system Pink Floyd and U-571 were my first two DVD’s.Had Pink Floyd up to about 75%.Guy next door came over and laughed the house was vibrating outside. He won tickets on the radio to see them in Berlin.
huge fan, but don’t really care for umma gumma. Hands down, the best concert I’ve been to was in ’94 at camp randall. My girlfriend at the time scored us 2nd row center. what a show!
