Any ice and or fishing report for Hoyt Lakes? I have a opportunity to stay in a cabin u there but have not heard anything about ice conditions or fishing..

I was up there last weekend, but didn’t fish. My in-laws live up there and most of the local I know have been heading to Vermillion instead of fishing the local lakes. There are hardly any houses on any of the lakes in the East Range- I know I don’t trust the one aroung Biwabik yet! Good Luck!
January 8, 2012 at 8:19 pm #1025821I just left Aurora-Hoyt Lakes this morning. Lots of ice fisherman north of Cloquet. I even noticed a few vehicles on the ice when you get to Eveleth. Not a soul on the ice between Biwabik and Aurora (not good fishing anyway so that is not new). Sorry, did not get as far as Hoyt Lakes but if they are on ice in Eveleth – you know they are on White water. Or Colby. Or around the Hoyt Lakes area. I did not hear any bragging from relatives on bite. Hope that helps.
