Looking for a floor jack & was wondering what the IDO mechanics here have. I have been looking at some from Northern Tool & Equipment. LINK

Those are nice for the money.I never really had problems with the cheapy Larin brand jacks.A 6-ton Larin bottle jack supported the back of my car for a week.

Most jacks fail from being over loaded. Just remember to take a look at what your vehicle gross weight is, and apply the majority. Lifting the front end of a truck or car can easily bare 3/4 of a vehicles weight. I blew a 1-1/2 ton bottle out on my truck (GMC 2500HD). Learned the hard way

Then if you plan to crawl under it, block it up solid. Be safe.

Thanks for the tips guys, I will have to go shopping today and check some of these out. Most of the time mine will be used to take my boat off the TRAILER DOLLIES.

I have a small floor jack that I carry in the back of my truck but it is a pain in the because it will not lift the tire high enough off the ground to get the dolly under the tire so I have to set it on a wood platform to get enough clearance to get the dolly under the tire. After one season of messing around with the smaller jack down on my hands and knees lining everything up I am ready for a larger jack.

Well after shopping around today the best deal I found was this one. Even after adding shipping (total price under $100) it was less money then the 2 ton Larin. Thanks again for the tip Jeff!
