Here’s to hoping this group of monkeys can find something worth while on tonights show 
Chances are that we’ll be shaking our heads for 58 minutes and then the, “ohhh, was that a gold flake” right before the final shots.
Man, I dont know why I watch it but for some reason I can’t stop! 
I watch it because every time Jack talks I end up laughing.
Seriously, not sure why I watch it if it’s to see them fail or hope they find something. I would like to see the crew get some money but the Hoffman’s are pretty much a joke in my book.
Tonite its their last chance for me. unless they find gold. started out liking it, i’m now getting sick of the stupid idiots. They’ve wasted over a quater million of other peoples money, they truly do’nt have a clue what they are doing, and to take several months for 5 guys to set up equipment, probably lazy, too. I guess it beats working!
I’m in the same boat as you, I keep watching, don’t know why. Kind of like a train wreck I guess. I’m hoping these goofballs actually find some significant gold.
Old guy that stole their clam , hope all his equipment breaks down, karma is a b__ch.
I watch because like a train wreck, I just have to see how much they can screw up, each week they seem to top themselfs.
I hope they get paid well, as they’ve become the laughing stock of reality TV and just about any forum that has a General section in it.

Yeah, They do appear to be idiots. Then part of me thinks that maybe it’s just the editing part of the show. Like they want to make them look that way??? BUT then I think, 85 days to run your first piece of dirt?? No way they can alter that stuff. They have 20 hours of daylight and 7 days a week. Should be to hard to put in 60-70 hours per.
How ironic is it that the guy with the genuine 1849 prospector’s mustache (Thurber) is probably the worst miner there?

I’m going up there next year with the kiddo’s beach toys and get some gold, anyone care to invest? I watch because it is more of a comedy, like how they will set themselves up next.

They don’t need to find gold. It was already found when a TV station more than likely paid them to be on a “reality” tv show. The more you watch, the more money they will make. There is no reason to work hard to find gold.
If things went smooth and they made lots of money who would want to watch it 
They need drama and stupidity 
those guys are getting $5,000 an episode a piece..dont let them fool ya…where do you think all the money came from to start up this year..its all an act and for the show..hoffmnas are laughing all the way to the bank..the bigger goof balls they look like the more people watch

I am guilty as well. I watch, Dont understand why, I get so frustrated watching them bunch of wannabees, you would think the one guy that owns his own rock quarry would take control.
I think its funny how online they say they don’t make anything or not much for the show, yet this year all of them are driving brand new trucks!
Yeah, I’ll watch. Hard to pass up some good old fashioned manufactured drama!

From May to August they have approximately 24 hours of daylight. Why wouldn’t they bring in more people and work shifts?
Best part of tonight’s show- the excavator craps the bed.
And the ensuing response, “I bet this thing hasn’t been oiled in YEARS.” What do these guys do in the off season?
If they are as remote as this show depicts them to be, wouldn’t you think you would want to do a thorough maintenance check in the off season? The other dandy was watching the miners learn how to use a sluice box, as if it were some piece of NASA equipment they had never seen before. More water? More pitch? WHOA!
I guess I am the only one that likes the show. They may be stumbling and bumbling, but they are chasing a dream and they are giving it their best. Sure there is a lot of made-for-tv drama, but they started out unsure of what they were getting in o…and they are still plugging away. I guess until I walk a mile in their shoes, I am not going to cut them down too much. I do have a little respect for people that are willing to put a lot on the line to chase a dream. After all, this show is designed as entertainment – nothing more, nothing less.
That kid of Dakota Fred sure rubs me the wrong way, though. What a [censored]…..

I really like watching that kid run his own gold claim.
It does seem like the show is making the Hoffmans look like the biggest fools.
Of course if they are making $5000.00 a show? who’s the fool?
I thought last weeks show was a little better than most of the others. But it’s just breakdown after breakdown. IM sure this week will be much different
Don’t even get me started on the Schnabel kid… mama will shut his azz down if he don’t give some respect… talk about manufactured drama
