    Wouldnt catch me with anything other then maybe foot travel on metro lakes! This weather is makes that ice soft

    I was thinking about bring my 14′ boat back from up north to fish the river here too–30-40 is nice when not too windy on river and way its looking Pepin ice fishing wont happen

    I like having only 6-10 inches of ice! Keeps all the big vehicles off the ice which I think keeps the bite going longer. You also separate the men from the boys. It is amazing to me how many people wont fish if they can’t drive on a lake

    I must be one of those.

    I have been fishing a smaller, very shallow lake and have been using the wheeler for the past 5 days.

    The first day I went there I pulled my portable out and checked numerous holes for 6 inches of ice.

    This weekend came and the warm weather and wind concerned me alot so I walked out again and found this lake lost no depth in the ice.

    Fished it today and it is now 7.5 inches. So, it has gained 1.5 inches in the last 5 days even in these temps as the nights are still below freezing.

    This is of course on a a lake I know very well for the past 10 years. I only go to my fishing spot and do not venture elsewhere on the wheeler, all that is on foot unitl I can check the ice depth.

    How about all us poor bast@#ds that need snow for our buisness! Dang this hurts 45 new sleds sitting here yet! Dealer meeting to order next years is in 2 months! That is going to be a tough meeting!

    Really sorry for you Millerman. This may turn out to be the mildest winter I have ever seen. I keep thinking its going to swing the other way and it just doesnt. Weird.
