Replaced the rear passenger side Caliper and roter, bled the lines, and now have NO brakes! The brake pedal goes all the way to the floor. I am able to stop eventually, but they are not right. Any idea? 2001 Toyota avalon.

Did you top off the brake fluid before and after you bled the lines?

There is air somewhere in there, so you will probably need to bleed all 4 lines. Start at the back passenger side, then back driver, front passenger, finish at the front driver side. Check and top off fluid level after every wheel.

Did you bleed all of the fluid out? Yikes. Try pumping the brakes. That’s what my dad would say… Sorry, I’m probably not helping.

Must have air in the lines. Good luck.

Remember when you bleed them, leave the key OFF. Also, did you bottom the brake pedal out at all? That could have ruined the seals in the master cylinder, and you will need to get a new one if this next bleeding doesn’t help. If you need a new MC try your best to get a new one, not a re-manufactured, and if you absolutely must use a re-manufactured, plan on replacing it 2 or 5 times until you find one that actually works.

    Good luck!

On some models it is possible to put caliper on upside down. This usualy happens when changing both and swapping left to right. Make sure the bleeder is on the top!

They won’t bleed right if the engines running, do it with it off. Plus tighten the bleeder every time befor letting up on the brake peddel. Make sure you check the fluid level befor you bleed each brake or it will pull air back into the brake lines.

You did fill the caliper resivour with break fluid before you attached the break line correct?
