Our noon news just reported a snowmobile having gone thru Lake Zumbro last night and another snowmobile piloted by a DNR officer thru at Lake of the Woods yesterday some time.
Lake Zumbro should just flat be closed to vehicle travel during the winter. All forms of vehicle travel.
If they closed lake Zumbro to winter travel how would the woman I saw last winter driving 60 mph down the lake make it to Rochester in time for happy hour?
6:00 news had a feature. He went thru, crawled out, started to walk to shore and broke thru again. Thought he was a goner and then he touched bottom. Was able to crawl out again and made it to shore. The fellow looked like ~60 and got pretty choked up telling the story ’cause he thought at some point he was a gonner.
Editorial: They said he lived on the lake for 40 years. With the weather we’ve had, the current on that lake, and even the nature of the ice that forms normally on that lake WTF was this guy thinking driving a snowmobile across the lake?
