I stored my boat way to soon, mid October. What the hell was I thinking?

Probably the same thing I was thinking. Last year when I put the boat away, I had a tough time doing all the routine maintenance becasue it was so cold. The 90W gear lube wouldn’t come out of the bottle, the grease gun was frozen, my fingers wouldn’t bend. This year I did it earlier and did a much better job of it. Then winter never happened….

    Anyway you’re not alone!

I’m in the same boat as you guys, well not really I guess they are in storage! On a side note my ice gear should last longer because it surely is not getting used and abused.

If you keep using your boat, there is no need to “winterize” for storage. You just prepare it for cold weather use. Mine will be in the water tomorrow.
