Looking for pros/cons on buying the lake master cd Vs the mini sd card for a Garmin hand held gps. Was searching online and found both. I like the idea of having the cd to have a back up to the sd card. Anyone with experiences with this?

Unless something has changed, I don’t think you can copy maps from the cd to work with your GPS. I think the pc version will allow you to see the lake on your pc, and transfer waypoints, but I don’t think the actual map transfers to your gps unit.

Lakemaster Contour Elite (CD) is for your computer. You can not save the maps and load onto your gps. It is a great tool for looking at lakes instead of doing it off your gps. You can load all you old waypoints on it and rename, make new ones and add to your gps, do fish searches for different times of year and conditions…etc.

You still need an sd or micro sd for you gps to lake contours.

This is correct. We had the same idea but
it doesnt work. It helps in the pre-fishing work though.

The LakeMaster Contour Elite DVD is different than the Garmin/LakeMaster CD. You can download the maps from the Garmin CD, that is its primary purpose. But, it will only recognize one GPS, whereas the Garmin microSD works in most Garmin GPSs.
