Honestly, I’m not one bit surprise.

This just tells me there’s more to finding asian carp then checking for edna.

There’s a number of other ways to find edna in waters besides having the actual fish in the water.

    What does the article prove?

We shouldn’t spend millions or billions of dollars just using edna testing alone. In my arm chair anyway.

Wondering when the sonar companies will jump in and start adding DNA recognition capabilities so that the arches on our finders are displayed as walleyes, carp, or figmants of our imagination

In all sincerity, we all know it is only time before they are here. Even if the CRD stopped the movement, we all know some yahoo is probably going to think they are a smart A** and manually transplant them above the dam.

My thoughts exactly. What’s stopping some d bag from taking 10 of these in the back of their truck and dumping them in.. I’m sure it’s happened already in many areas.

Not good. Here on the Illinois river there are millions.on youre locator they are stacked up on top of each other 5ft high, when you drive down the river they fly out of the water bouncing off youre boat. Ive been hit in the head by the dam fish. This will kill a lake off quickly. DNA means nothing, but catching one does.

SO most rivers are connected to lakes. Maybe a dumb question but do they like rivers more than lakes? I assume they will go into the lake too but what do they prefer?

To reproduce sucessfully they need a fairly large river with good flow. Not sure on the exact conditions but I got this information from a biologist on another site.

I seen just yesterday an article on TV that where ever there is water fish will just appear. What they said happens is birds/ducks transfer the fish eggs by the eggs getting caught in their feet going from one lake to another. I wonder if Mill foil gets transferred that way as well?
