Used to use it quite a bit. I don’t much anymore. There are a lot of people on there that like to do nothing more than complain and call people liars. There is also a ton of B.S. reports. It has it’s good points, but not enough to keep me there. Much more collaborative group over here.

That sites great if you enjoy being lied to, hearing a bunch of crying and associating with the touchiest site mods around. Not impressed!

I use it a lot for the lake maps. You can customize the contour maps with GPS coordinates to help find humps, breaks etc… Never look at anything else there.

While not an IDO by any means, still has some good people posting and willing to trade good info, but you do have to weed through the crap at times. As a SE WI fisherman by default of where I live, there is plenty of good info there and I have a number of guys that I touch base with, info going both ways.

I was there at the beginning, but closed my account years ago. I still have my unopened prize from their first get together. I know at one of their outings, many people had gear stolen from their trucks. I visit from time to time and nothing has changed. I must say that it is the only site out there for information about Geneva and Delavan, but I question how much is the truth.

That is the problem with LL in general. I don’t know how many times I’ve either seen the same picture show up in multiple lakes with a report stating they were caught there, the same pictures showing up year after year, or just plain blatantly false reports. You can glean good information, but you can’t take everything you read as accurate.

Some people like it,some obviously don’t. Fishing reports won’t be of much use to someone in Iowa as they’re mostly Wisconsin lakes and rivers…Some reports are merely BS,others are “bragging” from those who don’t know any better….Ande a few are actually meant to be helpfull.

The bragging has all but destroyed some small panfisheries.

It’s best point is as an outdoors forum but that can at times also be it’s worst.

I*’ve met some great guys and even a couple who will probably be lifelong friends. I’ve also had my health and property threatened by total strangers……It’s like a Wisconsin tavern – if you speak your mind freely, you’d better park under the streetlight and not give out your address.

OK, so only looking at it from a lake map perspective, how is it? worth the money? does it have ALL MINN LAKES or no more no less than say a lakemaster chip for a GPS?

In my opinion there are other sources to get lake maps from, LL had to get their’s from someone else to put on there website. So for my money I will go some where else.

It is what it is, sometimes useful but no wheres near what IDO is. I have met some good people on there and helped quite a few and made some friends. I prefer iceshanty.com over lake-link.com

X4 – What they said! I actually hit it quite a bit-but what they said is why I’m only registered and not a paying member. A little decent info on there, but hard to get to and directly asking for it will often get you a beating.
MUCH better info and users here on this site–and if you want good solid info here, all you usually have to do is ask!
    Thanks IDO!

I got an email today from another site that I forgot I signed up for. It was an interesting concept, but I want to just have a forum where I can pick peoples brains, talk fishing and BS. Ido is perfect for that.
