……..you were 16, and the only things you thought about were food, cars, girls, sports?
No need to worry about a job, money, family, taxes, government, politicians ect, ect.

I’m 47 and I still think a lot about food, cars, girls, sports? The rest just gets added into the mix now
I still think about all of them
Food – How to afford it – How to find time to buy it
Car’s – We is one going to break down – How am I going to afford to pay for the repair
Girls – My own – How to raise her well and keep her out of trouble – I spend most of mine time thinking about this one!!!!
Sports – How to find money to afford them and time to do or watch them.
At age 16 I had a job. Paid for my own car and apartment. Worried about how to pay for all of that stuff including food. It was not easy being me at age 16. No complaints and I would not change a thing!

How I remember. Chicks, parties and more chicks.
God those were the days. To be 16 again.
Played in rock bands all though high school, don’t remember much about sports…:)

Same here Jon. I remember when I was 17. An apt. was $50.00 a month, my friend had a whole house for $75.00 where we drank beer on weekends. We all worked because we wanted money for the girls and beer, not necessarily in that order but they both came through the door every weekend, and we never got in trouble, it was considered stupid to get in trouble and it was not cool to be stupid, times sure have changed since then. I bought everything too and we were treaded like adults, I know they thought that would rub off, I guess it did some at that time. Nobody messed around and did what they had to do, good Karma. When you treat someone like an adult and they aren’t they look stupid too themselves, and everybody else. Thats the way things worked.
It’s difficult remembering back to age 16 but I’m sure my wife remembers stuff I did wrong back then. But what I do remember is it was a different time. We repected, worked hard, played hard, and…….. see I can’t remember.
At age 16 I was working my first job, it was at a Foriegn car dealership, the perks were being able to be the first in line to buy a trade in at dealers cost.
I was into Cars and Women, women and cars.
Driving Triumphs and MGB’s to high school, imported sports car convertable’s really impressed the young ladies.
16 years old – that was not exactly the peak of my existence. For some guys – High School was their high water mark. Not me.
I was such a nerd/jock that I could only hope that a girl would say “yes” – Those were awkward years for the Dog.
Life in a small town was great – drank beer, raced cars, school was the center of your life, fishing and hunting were just down the road. I still have great friends from High School.
20 years later – the girl that I asked to Prom 3 times – no success is fat and not really that interesting – at the class reunion. My how life changes.
I no longer live in a small town – (sorry JC Mellencamp)
I am married to a smoking hot, successful woman and we have 3 beautiful kids.
Life is like a box of chocolates….

I have a 16 year old son at home….things haven’t changed much in that category except he has his own wheels….
I always to beg and borrow to get around!
I read alot of these and just chuckle…. I made a pact with myself 20+ years ago, to not say today, “when I was a kid, we respected adults, we worked way harder than any kid today, or that I walked up hill to and from school, in snowstorms”….
I also had a job part-time at the local small town grocery store, I was the head stocker/pricer/bagger/deliverer/truck unloader and bag carrier…yep, I was the only employee besides the owners who were the butchers and cashiers I also believe I was more interested in Fishing and Hunting, than the chicks (let’s face it, at 16 back then, they didn’t grow em like they do now) I also enlisted for the Army when I was 16… but had to wait until I was 17 the following year to go to Basic That experience right there, made me grow up quickly
