Mr Bob Moore JUST received a call…the call.

The call that he’s been waiting for about a year or better.

Bob’s on his way to the hospital for his lung transplant.

Personally, the name alone (lung transplant) scares me to death.

    Good luck Bob!

I almost didn’t open this ever because I thought it was going to be a joke thread, I had no idea it was about Bob going in.

Prayers and thoughts go out to Bob, his wife and brother. Here’s to a successful transplant and a speedy (as speedy as you can get with a transplant) recovery.

I guess we all have a little more to give thanks for this Thursday.

    This mornings update.

Bob was received at the hospital at 6 am yesterday Nov 21.

The surgery started about 4pm and finished at 1 am this morning.

He’s now resting in ICU drugged to the edge with a tube down his throat. According to Meg his wife, the new lungs fit perfectly and since he’s not going to remember much at this time, she told him all the things that she’s kept secret from him over the course of their marriage.

All is going well as planned and the doctors don’t for see any complications at this time. He’ll be able to have visitors in 4 days to a week.

Great news! Knowing Bob, he’ll probably be calling me in 4 days asking if I want to go out on Nokomis since the weather is so nice.

He must be sick if he is asking Pug to go fishing

Glad to hear he is on the road to recovery. Get well soon

No, he enjoys watch me miss fish and watching them torment me. Last time out he put his rod down and watched me miss 3 bass in a row.

Now why am I bagging on my fishing partner in his thread? Bob is a true friend who is patient enough to fish with me and my tantrums.

    Heal fast bud!

Maybe. He has emailed me the trips he took with his brother assuring me those fish were catchable.

Just off the phone with Bob.

He has been named the Transplant Poster Boy of the year as he’ll be coming home (hopefully) this Friday! Which in my mind is crazy for a double lung transplant.

One note here, if you are metal grinding, always do this with proper ventilation.

At this rate he’ll be guiding me by spring.

After learning he got the call, I did quick Google of lung transplants. The recovery time is amazing, not quite as amazing as Bob, it is crazy how soon they get sent home.

I am going to give him a call tomorrow. I’ll let him know everyone says hi from IDO!
