12 ga wire?

    Looking for 12 gauge stranded 2 wire power cord, preferably in the south metro (mpls/richfield/bloomington) and sriking out, or I should say the box stores and me are striking out.

    I’m rewiring a couple of down riggers and I tried the power cord with a ground and that won’t fit though the rubber piece on the rigger.

    Anything like this would probaly work as long as it was flexible and rated for outdoors, but power tool cord looks like a it will work well.

    Anybody??

    They want to sell it by the spool, I just need about 10 foot of it..:)

    Try 12 Ga Speaker wire, found all over the place Home Depot has it

    Not sure if you could find an extension cord that would work. But more than likely it will have the ground wire to get in your way.

    Thanks all, extension cords have the ground wire in them, may work though if the insulation is thin enough, West or maybe Dan’s marine may have the wire I need and I’ll try tomm, thanks.

    Speaker wire is a bit thin for the piece on the DR that secures the wire from pulling out, but there may be a way to deal with that too.

    I was trying to get done tonight, not going to happen but it does give me more time to find what I need now.

    You can Try Viking Electric on Highway13 in Burnsville They may even have a UV protected wire.

    Viking is a wholesaler they only sell by the full spool’ any of the fleet farms or any decent hardware store shoukld sell by the ft

    If you cannont find a store that will sell you the wire by the foot, contact an electrician, they will probably sell it by the foot. You may pay a bit more, but you’ll get what you needed.
