I have seen adds for this new line, but have not seen it in stores. Anybody know where or when it will be available?

Could be as both are 8 fiber braids, but, Specta and Dyneema are different materials. Maybe there is a chemical engineer lurking within our midst…

The PowerPro is 15% more expensive.

It does NOT seem to be any thinner than previous braids (10# braid = 2# mono)

. . . and 34% less manageable and 78% more frustrating than Sufix.

Actually, i’ve been running PP (Spectra), Cabela’s (Dyneema) and Sufix (Dyneema) side-by-side all season, or at least what i’ve been able to fish.

I’ve had my greatest problems with all of them i.e. wind knots. None of them seem to shine here.

I did run into what i expect was a quality control issue with some abraided Sufix, but that has not occured after those two incidents.

Right now i’m partial to the CAbelas Ripcord, but i can’t tell you why. It’s performing as well and is 25% less expensive.

Will tell you more after a winter of fishing with it…

Thanks for the feedback! I have been using Nanofil for pitching jigs and love the stuff. It makes fishing fun again.(90% fewer wind knots) I wanted to compare the feel of the two lines, so I was looking to find it in a store.

    Interesting.

Nanofil is made from dyneema also. Wonder why it’s not wind knotting. I thought i was getting WKs from Ripcord and Sufix. I’ll have to watch more closely.
