Well, had a couple of questionable and another interesting experiences with Sufix 832 yesterday. Topped up a Mitchell 204 with about 100 yards of 10#.

About 10 casts later, I found a frayed section, worn right down to about 2# thickness. Cut the line back.

About an hour later, I had a $5 sonar go zinging out into the river. No reason whatsoever…

I’m believing there is questionable QC on this stuff.

Now, on the other hand, I got a snag and try as hard as I could, I could NOT break the stuff. Finally, the hook gave way and the lure surfaced. I WAS impressed with the strength of the stuff UNFRAYED.

    Just saying…

Check your guides. I have well over 100 hours on 10, 20 and 30 lb and never a problem.

    Good Luck

This is my 3rd season on 2 rods spooled with 6lb. I have never had a problem with it. The only thing I have seen is color fade in the line

I will do that. It’s one thing I overlooked.

Makes sense since it happened twice in one day…

What’s a good test?? A piece of nylon stocking thru the guide??

Q Tip will also work. The cotton will catch a sharp edge and pull loose. Q Tip is easier in that you can roll it around the guide real well hitting all surfaces.

after seeing break offs on hook sets with #80 i question the shock strength. i will no longer use it on my ski rods. but have had no porblems with #6 jigging for eyes.

Nope guides are all fine. Ran the Q-Tip both directions TWICE on each guide. NADA…

Used it on 3 rods this season without an issue.

Well, i’ve still got 400 yds i’m not throwing away…

I like the line, just didn’t like finding the scrap and losing the blade…

I have it on 3 muskie rods and no issues yet, has faded but far drier line than anything else I have used…

It all happened in a friend’s boat and I don’t think i repeated anything that would cause a problem. Always possible tho. At least it wasn’t my Legend’s eyes…
