I just looked and the cheapest HDS 7 I found on the website is 949 w/o tranducer?? Take of the 200 and you are getting unit for 749, which is still not too bad a price.

You will see great deals everywhere on most HDS units and great rebates as Lowrance will be coming out with Second generation Hds units next year. Good deals everywhere this fall!!

Looking at some of the reviews there seems to be some problems with the HDS 7. Anyone having problems?

Lowrance? I’m disillusioned. My 3d Lowrance unit is a LMS 520 C. Down for 2 months +, been through the mill with test, retest, fishlectronics, LowTechreps. Sonar no problem, gps won’t respond. New puck, clean bill of health, still doesn’t work. Decided to wait until the winter sport show circuit and see who is pushing what new tech for better bucks. Anybody prefer humminbird or garmin?

Well, hey! Good luck with your next unit Lund8, whatever it is. There’s a bird forum down below in the Toys For Big Boys forum.

That’s a darn good price on a 7! Thanks for sharing Yamadog!

been very happy with mine, would like to move it to the front of the boat and install a HDS 8 and network it, but BK won’t buy all my crap in the classifieds so I am stuck for now…..

Techie question for you guys, I already have an HDS5 on my boat (I’m young and my eyes still work fairly well) but if I chose to add another one to the front, do I need a new transducer and the whole thing or can I get something to act simply as a “monitor” run from my dash mounted HDS5?

Yes, an ethernet cable will do that for you. I have a 520c linked with an X27.
