I shot this out the window of the truck today. Many will recognize this as being on the St. Paul side of the Lafayette Bridge (Hwy. 52)

So, how long does it take to spray paint one of these? How is it that the cops couldn’t catch the guy? Or maybe they did? It makes me scratch my head when something this size can get done and nobody sees anything. I mean geez, they couldn’t possibly do this in one night could they? How hard would it have been to watch the project when they came back to finish?

You should call eyewitness 5 to get an answer. Or 20/20 … didn’t they used to have a “good question” feature? Anyway, I don’t have a clue.

All that time and effort put into that so most people can look at it and think “what does that say”? At least you can read what the guy tagging the road barriers was spelling.

5 guys, 5 minutes. Notice they tagged over another work of art. I paint over this stuff constantly in the park I walk my dog in. Call me “Primer Man” I use the brown primer just because it is the cheapest stuff at Fleet Farm. I have seen them in action, call the cops. They got better stuff to do…..never show up.

You would be surprise how fast a person can do it. Most likely he does the same word all around your town. Most likely it is his art name. Pretty small group of them that run in a circle. I know it cost allot of money to clean the graffiti up,but for my artist eye I think some of it is very good looking. We had one down here that was a mirror image of the same on 2 grain cars at a rail station. From left car to right car. I wish I would of had a camera with me. It was beautiful, that me

Where we usually duck hunt in NoDak is right next to a grain silo. There are usually 50-100 railroad cars parked their. It gives you a good chance to check out the art. Those people who do that are amazing artists. It always amazes me what they can do.

I think that’s part of the artwork Jon,,,,supposed to add depth or something. They just took that offramp down this year…what’s curious is that its pretty big…they must have had a bunch of ladders or maybe they hung from the bridge when it was still there.

anyway Dutchy’s latest rant got me thinking there must be a grafitti unit in St. Paul…so I googled it and sure enough…the fourth picture down…

    Grafitti Unit

The man at the center of the St. Paul grafitti ring…BK!

Gentlemen, it isn’t vandalism when you paint up your own garage door.

Other than the name tagging Grafiti, some of the art murals are pretty well done.

They could put their talents to better uses though.

For all we know they could be getting spray paint money from the Outdoors legacy fund.

Some lefties would like to call this art. Its vandalism period. I dont care how good it looks. This costs a staggering amount of money every year in damages. My wife and I get in this argument a couple times a year. I guess Im a zero tolerance kind of guy, seeing as I also consider the pictographs in the BWCA as graffiti also…

Call it what you want… some of it is very impressive art.

Kind of fun watching spray painted railroad cars pass by

Might be, but I’d doubt you’d say that if it were your garage/house that got vandalized.

Lack of respect and responsibilty again, just like the bozo who ended up getting shot.

It’s not the difficulty, its the quantity and how they can get them all in the upper right hand corner.

Seriously? What a ridiculous load of crap. That bridge belongs to the taxpayers – it is graffiti and grafitti is vandalism. Period.

    I didn’t get that either.

    van·dal·ism

       [van-dl-iz-uhm]

1.deliberately mischievous or malicious destruction or damage of property: vandalism of public buildings.

2.the conduct or spirit characteristic of the Vandals.

3.willful or ignorant destruction of artistic or literary treasures.

    4. a vandalic act.

I am guessing the sentiment here would be different if they spray painted a couple dudes “going at it” on a public launch ramp.
