I figured 10 was a good number to stop at. I missed 9,999 in MN alone!
For those that do not know….I spend most my time on pool 8 Some time is spent on pool 7 when Blue is not ignoring me
Lake Wisconsin & the Wisconsin River.
Lake Michigan.
Green Bay and its tributaries.
Several different pools on the Mississippi.
Anywhere that the fish are biting!
Mississippi River for us. Pools 13,14,16 and of course Pool 4 when we have 2 or 3 days. I fish the Illinois River alot here at home but it’s not my favorite place. But it’s closer to the house.
Mississippi P4-9
Green Bay
Winnebago
Petenwell
All depends on the time of year and what presentation I want to use (what am I sick of doing at that point in the year)
In the interest of following the rules I voted for Pool 4.
1. It’s 45 miles from my house so I can go any day of the week (chances are good I get there once a week).
2. It’s one of the best well known secrets in MN as far as an awesome fishery goes.
3. There really isn’t anything in MN south of Mille Lacs (other than the other pools) that can compete with it.
I’m a confused fisherman right now, my favorite lake is Red Lake Canada, but cost and unfortnately most of the people I went with are now not going anymore after 35 years or so.
So next is going to be a draw between P4 and Superior.
But I still like to bounce around to different lakes.
Al
Pool 4 and reasons are mainly what Wade said (except I can only get over there about 15-20 times a year)
I know the river is or has been dropping but the river does exist below pool 4 contrary to the to the lack of fishing reports. jUST KIDDING
By the looks of the initial numbers…and of the “other” waters, I would say I completely blew this poll.
But it’s good to see them typed out.
open water
Lake Wisconsin and the Wi River. They are 10 minutes from my house, and are full of big eyes and sauger. What more could a guy want.
Also hit Winnebago often. Further from my house, but also full of walleye.
P4 but I only fish it for one week per year and you said that doesn’t count.
Things are to crowded where I go already. So, ummmm, St. Croix river!!! Yep thats the place!! Gigantic fish just jumping in the boat.
Sorry I helped to wreck your pole, besides, you know fisherman never tell the truth.
The St.Croix with the variety it gives us just hard to beat it also helps to live just a number of steps from the shoreline and access to a dock to tie off to overnight and hopefully all season long next year.
Sand Lake in Itasca county my second body of water.

I started fishing Mille Lacs at only a few years of age as my grandparents retired on the shores in Wahkon. It’s still special to me, the fish are big and I can be to the Cove Bay ramp in 1 hour and 20 minutes from my house.

Me too!
For me it is the Wisconsin river system, doesn’t really matter where on the system, it is just an awesome body of water. Next would be Where ever the fish are biting or I have a hankering at trying something different. Oh yeah Lake Michigan also, love catching chinook slamon.
The week in Red Wing doesn’t count for John because he hasn’t won the pool in 5 years. I’m glad Mendota is such a secret.
