My front trolling motor a 24v maxxum has the jumper wire going from the neg on the #1 battery to the pos on the #2 battery. The wireing for my Vantage 74 24v I’m putting on the back calls for the opposite, pos #1 to be jumped to neg #2 battery with the orange 12v on the #2 pos.If I hook one up the other wont work because the jumpers are different.I cant run 2 jumpers on 2 batterys can I.Do the 2 wires for the front have to be moved to the #2 battery now so that there is 24v comeing off 2 directions on the 2 batteries.Puzzled as H*** and don’t wont to damage anything.BILL

Hook up the one that has a 12v the right way the other one hook up for 24v on outside +&- if the motor runs backwards Just reverse the leads. I hope that makes sense.

The 12 volt (orange wire) goes to the #2 batt. + post. It is to run the trim on the vantage. The red+ and black- are 24 volt and hook up just like your front trolling motor.
There should only be one jumper wire between the 2 batteries.

Dan I hooked it up the way you say and the Vantage runs fine, the Maxxum wont run hooked up that way.The jumper for the Maxxum was hooked up completely the opposite on the 2 other posts.BILL
