    Very sad accident.

I would guess that Dan hit the catch fence so hard that he should not have suffered. That was one of the hardest hits I have ever seen in all the racing I have watched.

A very sad deal indeed. Feel sorry for all those involved and his family.

On a second not this kinda hits a nerve. Being from the racing community myself this is coming from experience. If you have drivers, crew members, commentators, and OFFICALS saying during practice that this track is to fast, or some other unsafe thing and something bad is going to happen and we should do something about it. For crying out loud DO SOMETHING about it than. Dont just sit there and talk about it. Stuff like this has happened all the way from nascar down the the local dirt tracks and a lot of it could have possibly been prevent if they would have made a change before the race like everyone says needs to happen.

Its a sad and horrible deal no matter how you look at it
