Fished the pond last night and killed em, report to come later. Want to make a nice dinner for the family tonight but my kids won’t eat any fish unless it is in a stick and comes out of a box. My 9 year old son caught most of our box fish. Any ideas?

    Thanks

I’ll trade you a recipe for 1 good tip for the pond…headed there tomorrow night. Most people like this recipe…they are especially good cold the next day. Good luck!

Jason- thanks for the fish cakes recipe. i’ll try them on my camping trip with my 7yo. think she’ll like them.

Only tip i can offer is stay in the boat. Much easier to land the fish…

For my kids its more about the sauce than the fish.

Tarter sauce. Miracle whip and pickles. Chop up a bunch of pickles mix it in the Miracle Whip. Add a little pickle juice to. Make this before cooking the fish. It needs to sit to mix well.

Cut your fish into smaller pieces to look more like fish sticks. Also try having the kids help make it. Mine are always more willing to eat when they are involved with cooking. Mine liked to put the fish in a zip lock bag and shake the coating on it.
