The majority of walleyes will be active from just before sunset to just after sunrise, with best fishing right around sunrise & sunset. If you want to fish them during the day, fish deep. Seen people catch them as deep at 50′.

Be careful at night on Tonka, because lots of people on that lake drive a boat like a car, thinking they should should stay to the right of any oncoming boat as they pass it. Just the opposite of what they are legaly supposed to do.

    Das..Bass,
Not sure I understand your comment about boaters staying to the right when meeting at night….

    From MNDNR Boating RegulationsL
    Meeting
When two watercraft approach each other “head-
on,” each must alter course to the right to avoid collision. If the two watercraft are far enough to the
left of each other, no change in direction is needed
for safe passage. Both watercraft will maintain their course and speed so as to pass clear of each other,
and keep to the right in narrow channels.

Maybe I read your post incorrectly.

Was on the lake Friday late afternoon with my son and twin grandsons, fishing an inside turn 18′ I boat four shorts vertically jigging a minnow, small perch, and a northern at dusk.
