Tackle in your carry-on?

Something tells me this is a no-no. While I have no idea how I could hijack a plane with some 3/8oz jigheads, I’m not sure the airlines would care for it.

Anyone done this? Is it an issue?

We have had hooks confiscated from our carry on bags.

It is not a problem – big hooks can create problems – especially in international security check points.

Small fishing equipment is not an issue.

You can call TSA or visit their website for further clarification.

Keep the filet knife and any other tools out of the carry on.

My parents brought me back some tackle from Spain, Hawaii and the Caribbean. All of it brought back in their carry on. No problems or hassles.

Thanks all! I was afraid of this. Now I have to decide what to bring.
