It wouldn’t surprise me. Which makes me wonder how much we paid under the table to get them released and why Iran wouldn’t lock them up and throw away the key.

You wouldn’t be saying we gave Iran “arms” to get them home…would you???

If these kids were indeed spies, paid for by the U.S. to be there……….hard to believe we would have spies that are that incredibly stupid and that easy to catch.

That thought bothers me a lot more than thinking it was no more than a couple of liberal college kids who didn’t really consider the consequence’s of there actions.

I believe everyone involved knew right away that they weren’t spies. As usual in cases like these, they were nothing more than a political football. And deservedly so for putting themselves in that position.

I really struggle to think that there are people this stupid that have not managed to take a dirt nap yet, but I think I can give up on my hope for society. Flat out too stupid to breed.

Iran found some idiots, and decided to use them as a bargaining tool. They grabbed a wild card and played it. Can’t blame them.

I thought we should have let Iran have them and forget they ever existed.

I heard they were Ultra conservative republicans…. really helps they story doesn’t it ???

Former president Clinton recently got some young female journalists released from N Korea after they were caught having illegally crossed the border.

They were there to “expose” human rights abuses on both sides of the border with China….Young Republicans,I’m sure

The sad part is these idiots will most likely walk away with a million dollar book deal; then followed up with speech coaching and begin speaking/motivation tour. I really would love to know who paid the ransom, the airfare and security to get them home. If it was the taxpayers, I hope that they are provided a hefty bill. I’ve had zero sympathy for these people since day one as it makes me sick.

Was it dumb to be hiking in Iran? YES
Does it seem like a fishy story? YES
Do we agree the taxpayers shouldn’t be on the hook for these people? YES

Here is where things get sticky in my mind. Lets assume that they were just some lost hikers. Do they deserve to sit in a Iranian prison? Do they deserve to sit in ANY prison? If it was a crime to do stupid things Washington D.C. would be empty and the Maryland jails would be over flowing.

If they were not spies then I believe it is justice that they get out and life goes on. If they were spies…….how long does our government let them rot in jail? Do we support our spies or just leave them on their own if they get caught? What if Iran executed them for being spies, does that change your thinking? If they were spies, should the government have paid the Million to get the last 2 out?

Besides being stupid these people were also sons, daughter, American citizens. How would you expect YOUR FAMILY members to be treated if this were them?

I know exactly how my brothers would have treated me. Lets just say they would have plenty more ammo to make fishing with them unbearable.

Yes they DID deserve to be in prison over there. When you go to a foreign country – especially into a KNOWN HOSTILE area ….YOU and YOU ALONE are responsible for knowing and following the laws. Making them out as victems and sticking the taxpayers with their rescue is BS in my honest opinion.

On U.S. soil rescue and the associated costs are part of the deal, but if they are such moronic imbeciles to think they are above other countries laws, then YES – THEY DESERVED WAHT THEY GOT – and quite frankly I think they got off damned lucky.

Ah, the real motive now is starting to show itself. I heard one of the dopes addressing the media saying anytime they were being treated poorly and brought it up to the guards, the guards would shoot back about Guantanamo Bay and CIA prisons across the globe. I am sure glad they got released so they could come back and blame America.
