Tonight I hang my head in sorry for Wisconsin has lost yet another young man to the fight in Afghanistan. I hate to see any of our boys get killed over and tonight it has come close to home. The young man Jakob Roelli is my cousins nephew. My deepest condolences and prayers go out to their family.

Prayers for his family and the families of all our fallen soldiers.
September 23, 2011 at 10:54 am #996816Not that it’s ever easy to hear. This whole thing just stinks.
I’ve got a couple friends over there now. Their wives must dread hearing that news on the news.
September 23, 2011 at 12:32 pm #996842Our thoughts and prayers to the families of all our service personal.
Freedom truly isn’t free.

September 23, 2011 at 1:57 pm #996872Thank you to our brave soldiers who are willing to give their lives so that we can enjoy the freedoms to say stupid things.
God Bless you all You have my never ending support and respect
September 23, 2011 at 2:13 pm #996877This trooper was from my area of Wisconsin. My thoughts are with him and his family. It is past time we got our soldiers out of Asia. We are not as ruthless as our enemy and this is a battle we can not win. It is time to end this nonsense. The only invader ever to pacify this part of the world did it by killing everyone. War in Asia is not something we should be in the business in. It is bankrupting our country and we are not accomplishing anything.

#1 Ron Paul has no chance
#2 This should not turn into a political post, someone lost a relative, this is no time for a political advertisement.September 23, 2011 at 6:47 pm #996927Quote:

Have you been over in combat and seen any of this first hand???
September 23, 2011 at 6:59 pm #996935First off I would like to say I’m sorry for their loss.
I hate yo disagree with you whiskerkev, cause I miss my family more than anyone knows. But I signed up because of 9-11-2001 and I vowed that as long as there was a threat out there that I would stand and fight that enemy wherever it took me in the world. I also know that everyone standing around me over here and further down range, for whatever the reason made the same vow and we all have something we’re fighting for back home.
And as far as the not doing any good, you cant have ever been down range and are basing it off of purely media. Every single person has done good in one way or another, weather it be bring water to a town that had been run dry. Or the first democracy and being able to vote and choose for themselves. Or even just seeing one of the kids smile and thank you. Now if you don’t think that that’s worth something I urge you to look into our own history. When a group of men decided that they didn’t like living under anther’s rule and that they should decide how a government should be ran. what if they hadn’t taken that first step… would you and I even be here today? I sure as hell know that we wouldn’t be having this conversation.Just showing another viewpoint here guys, one from someone who chose this life and would do it over again in a heartbeat.

Nicely said. I was deployed for 11 months last year myself. It get’s old hearing what could be done, or should be done, from people that have never been in theatre. The media is so far off on this subject it’s unreal.
September 23, 2011 at 7:37 pm #996945I call them like I see them and I am a former infantryman myself. thanks for your service guys but when we decide to leave and we will leave. I doubt anything will have changed. Just last week they were able to kill someone with a turban bomb who was working for peace. How do you defend against a turban bomb?
September 23, 2011 at 8:10 pm #996412I am proud of the men and women who have served over the last 10 years in Irag and Afghanistan. In hindsight, I wish that the US had gone more of a CIA, NSA, Special Ops route and kept the huge amount of troops we have deployed out of it as much as possible and pursued a streategy of wiping out Al Quaida and stayed away from the nation building.
