    A poem from your dog!

You feed me when I’m hungry,

You keep water in my dish,

You let me sleep on anything,

or in any place I wish.

You sometimes let me lick your hands’

    or even lick your face,

Despite the fact I’ve licked myself

    In every private place.

You taught me how to come when called,

    youtaught me how to sit,

you always let me go outside,

    so i can take a $#!@#-stroll.

    You”ll always have my loyalty,

    up to the bitter end,

cause after all, its plain to see….

You are a dog’s best friend.

I give this to the wife on Mothers Day many years ago, from our dog Shadow.[RIP] I thought it was prefect for her on her day.

I always wanted to post this poem when someone’s dog passed away but could not find it. I hope it would cheer them up. Well I just found it in my file cabinet in the garage. Hope you all enjoy it.

This is one of my favorites:
    A Dog’s Plea
Treat me kindly, my beloved friend for no heart in all this world is more grateful for kindness than the loving heart of me.

Do not break my spirit with a stick for though I should lick your hand between blows, your patience and understanding will more quickly teach me the things you would have me learn.

Speak to me often, for your voice is the world’s sweetest music, as you must know by the fierce wagging of my tail, when your footsteps fall upon my waiting ear.

Please take me inside when it is cold and wet for I am a domesticated animal, no longer accustomed to bitter elements.
I ask no greater glory than to have the privilege of sitting at your feet beside the hearth.

Keep my pan filled with water for I cannot tell you when I suffer thirst.
Feed me clean food that I may stay well, to romp and play and do your bidding, to walk by your side, and stand ready, willing and able to protect you with my life, should your life be in danger.

And my friend, when I am old and no longer enjoy good health and sight, do not make heroic efforts to keep me going, I am not having fun.

Please see that my trusting life is taken gently.

I shall leave this earth knowing with the last breath I draw that my fate was always safest in your hands.

    Said that oozing sarcasm Sir.

The FW keeps correcting me. I’ve been calling Woody Forrest a lot lately.

Thank Jeremy. I’m still working past the “did we do the right thing” selfishness piece. <sigh>

Perfect poem. We had to put down our Blue Heeler Billy of 13 yrs (he was 14 or so) a few years back. Worst day ever. Sorry for the losses guys. Wil

This one is for you Mbenson.

Not exactly the fireplaces you install.

Woody’s on the left and Forrest is on the right. At least the house isn’t empty with the W dog running around.

    Hey Wil!
