    The pond, aka; Mille Lacs.
That is where I’m going to yet for the second time this year.

But then I’m heading to British Columbia, CA. and the LOW yet this year as well!

Denny, even when I lived in Northern MN, I never thought of Mille Lacs as Southern MN.

I’d say Pepin for Southern MN.

Where you live in Southern MN? There are a ton of good waters not named Pepin in the south half of the state. Lotta these prairie waters are stuffed full of eyes.

This. There are a ton of lakes down there that have some big eyes in them. The only trouble is finding them.

Here are just a few lakes with nice eyes in southern MN:
    Tetonka
    Madison
    Jefferson
    Clear
    French
    Elysian

Although it is a hard lake to fish, Albert Lea lake holds plenty of walleye and is known to give up some large (as in over 10lbs) fish.

Most of the lakes in southern MN are hard to fish during the summer because of the weeds. Most of the eyes are buried deep in the weeds right now and getting into that thick stuff can be pretty frustrating, if not impossible.

Yep, the lakes in SC MN are a tough bugger to fish, they really are. This is the area I live and usually you are pitching weeds midsummer, although a deep crank bite happens from time to time. But you guys are thinking the wrong area. Go further south or west and get into the true prairie lakes. Those are the ones that are shallow, sand and or gravel bottoms, plump full, no weeds, snap on a #5 and take a boat ride.

Martin, Jackson, Murray county. Look some up. There are plenty that are filled to the brim.
