I recently bought a Motorola Xoom tablet and love it! But I need an App that allows me to edit PDF files for instance my company outputs reports on adobe, which is fine as Android is compatible. I get inventory forms that show what is supposed to be on the customer’s shelf. I need to log a quantity that i count and send back to corporate. I know I need a file manager, but how about a PDF editor? Any suggestions?
    Thanks!

I would download Adobe Acrobat and see if that will help you. I see that it is available in the Android Market. I have not used it on a tablet but we do use it at work for all of our PDF editing.

I’m far from a computer geek, but… I thought that you cannot change a .pdf if you are not the creator of the file. It’s designed that way on purpose for security. That’s why .pdf files are the way most receipts and inventories are sent to the purchaser, so they cannot be altered. We use them to deliver analytical data and other important information that we do not want to become corrupted by the other party. If there is a way to change them, I hope someone kicks in here.

    Tuck,

There really isn’t a good pdf editor available right now. But the best option right now is ezpdf on the market. It is 2 bucks, and will allow you to add annotations, circle and highlight items etc.

But if you want a full fledged editor, a pc is really your only option right now.

You can look on the market for a converter which would convert it to a doc for editing, but I can’t find anything decent right now to use.

You could always “borrow” a copy of it off of bit torrent and see if it works for you.

PDF’s can be made to be editable in areas and have “fields”. Of course then in those PDFs certain areas can be filled in by anyone. That information is all embedded in the file.

However generally speaking PDF are far from perfect in the secure manor in which you speak. I believe the initial idea of them was to be secure and uneditable, and be a cross platform viewer. However Very few people actually know how to properly create such a PDF. If you have Acrobat Pro rather than acrobat reader, you would be shocked at all the editing you can do. pictures, text, videos you name it. Or iff you don’t have Pro there is always Photoshop or Illustrator that can open the file and you make some edits via them as well.

In case you can’t tell I deal with PDF’s regularly and could go on and on about them.

If you ever want to see what I could do to one of your PDFs for fun feel free to send me one.

I use BlueBeam Construction Software. Fantastic and I can edit any drawings, notes, details I want. I don’t know if this would work for what you need to do, but it works well for those of us in the construction industry.
