    After watching all those swamp people shows I would guess that croc must of weighed about 300#s.

    I don’t have any frame of reference for weighing gators, but something tells me the people from the history channel are using the same scale that they use for Hillbilly Handfishing. You know, the scale that causes the narrator to add 50% . . .

    Swamp People is one of my favorite shows. Admittedly, I have never caught a gator and I could be completely off base, but I’ve lifted things up to 1030 lbs. When they claim some of those 6′ or 7′ gators weight 700 lbs, I’m more than a little skeptical.

    Just like many other cold blooded critters they use the sun to regulate their body temp, once it drops so low they den up in cold weather as their metabolism slows down. I think as long as their nostrils don’t freeze and they can breath, with the right den in the right area they could make it, and come crawling out come spring. I think anything is possible when it comes to mother nature life will find a way if it wants it bad enough.
