Choosing one and can’t decide. Any comments. I already have the older style curados and love them, just curious if I should stray away.

I have owned both and i like the curado 200E better. Alot smoother the the Pflueger and less backlashes, as well.

Nothing but great reviews on the E series. kind of mixed results on the new G series though – I think I’d wait a year or 2 on any new series – I hate to be someone’s test model for new models. I think I’m going to switch back to shimano Curado’s going forward myself. Been happy with the Revo’s but now that shimano has updated the curado’s and lowered the price time to give them another try.

What if I said a Patriarch for $94 or a Curado for $139?

I’m leaning towards the Curados myself… I have 2 Citicas and I’m pretty impressed. I saw the deal at Cabelas for $119.00, but I’m not sure if I want the 7:1 gear ratio? I looked at the Pfluegers as well but so far Shimano has made a believer out of me.

Got a 2012 sneak peak catalog from Cabelas today Looks like they are dropping Chronachs $100 To $199.Worth a look, think if you compare you might drop the extra 60 or 80 bucks and be very happy.Unless they cheapen them that will be a lot of bang for the buck.

I just picked up one of those Curado 200Es from Cabelas. It was like 129 after tax. Well worth it.

According to the specs and reviews the new chronarchs are basically curado E series with a new paint job. So you are paying $20 extra for what is essentially a Curado E. The curado E series have 7 bearings and the new chronarch has 7 now as well. The new curado G has only 5 bearings now, and apparently a plastic drag star. Maybe where the price decline came from….

Also, the curado and citica E were both produced in Japan before, but now only the new chronarch are being produced there now.

I would say jump on the Curado E series at there closeout price, because they are a proven performer and have great reviews from a couple years of use. I wish I could buy a few.

There’s 2 speeds also on the Curados just to let you know like a 7.1.1 and 5.8.1 gear ratio

    Thanks for the info guys.
I was a day late and a dollar short. The Cabelas sale is done and Tackle Warehouse only has the left handed version left.
Maybe Ill wait a little bit more to see if they go back on sale.
