I’m replacing the electric motor batteries in my boat.

I thought I marked all the wires and made a diagram to hook it back up but it doesn’t look right.

Does anyone have a diagram showing the proper way to hook up two 12 volt batteries to make 24 volts?

    Thanks,

Positive from trolling motor to the positive on one battery

Negative from trolling motor to the negative on the other battery,

Place a jumper wire on the two posts that are left. One on the negative and on one the positive.

I don’t know why but I’ve got 2 sets of heavy wires running from the back of the boat and one from the front.

I have plugs for bow and transom electrics but whats the third set for?

Also just to double check my wiring for my 2 bank charger:

It looks like black and red go to each battery??

    Thanks

    That part is correct.

I’m not going to guess at what the other wires are for.

When I first got my Nitro the trolling motor was 12/24 volts. You could change it from 12 volts to 24 volts just by flipping a switch on the foot pedal. In order for this to be possible you have to have four wires.

I’m wondering if the extra set of wires is for running a 12 volt transom motor.

I got it wired up and it seems to be working.

I’m going to disconnect one set going to the back and see if it makes a difference.

Skeeter might have it set up in case someone wants to run a 12 volt electric motor.

    Thanks for your help guys!

be careful, if you have two sets of wires at the battery compartment the jumper may be in your plug. you can always ohm it out to verify this
